Shade Tolerant Buffalo Grass Option

Developed to grow well in shady conditions where other turf varieties like kikuyu and couch were not well suited. One of the many benefits of Sir Walter is that your lawn will stay green all year round!

This buffalo variety is a tough, broad leaf grass that is a great option for high traffic areas like suburban backyards. Sir Walter turf prefers a warmer climate and is perfectly suited to our local Newcastle climate.

Sir Walter Buffalo Turf Is An Easy To Maintain Lawn

Unwanted weeds are kept to a minimum with Sir Walter’s thick ground cover. Any weeds that pop up are best hand weeded out. Although Sir Walter Buffalo prefers shady conditions, it’s also great for full sun (needing at least 3-4 hours of sunlight).

Our Sir Walter Buffalo turf variety responds well to a nitrogen based fertiliser in combination with an organic fertiliser like dynamic lifter. Sir Walter should be fertilised approx. 3-5 times per year depending on the conditions and the best times to fertilise your lawn are early spring, late spring, mid-summer and mid to late autumn.
